Have a question concerning usb program cable.
Brought Icom IC- 880 H .
Want to know if can used FT-60 R usb program cable ?
The IC-880 uses the same programming cable (1529?) as the IC-2820, but I would
be surprised if
Multicast (probably forgot to turn it off) and the other was
not. The worst part - they probably weren't even talking on the repeater that
was linked to 1C, but a repeater that was part of the Multicast Programming WAS
linked to 1C.

that the French language Belgian repeaters now
connect to Reflector 28, instead of 17C.

as
you do now.
When you are in Range of a D-Star Repeater, and you have your D-Star radio set
up to communicate with THAT repeater, then your position will be seen on
APRS.FI if you tell your radio to send it.
Hope this helps.

be in the 8th position and you have to add one or two spaces for
shorter calls.

Our local repeater gets one sided conversations almost every day from reason #2.

was when he called, using a
Dongle. to WB4HRO to talk to KJ4VO and I was already in QSO.
My previous answer was based on the rest of the D-Star world (as I have
experienced it). If you were specifically referring to Japanese contacts, I
somehow missed that, so disregard.

The first thought I had - maybe it is already linked somewhere? Have him try
the (UR=PY2KCA I) command and it should tell him if it is linked.

saying our callsigns to be safe, but since the radio is encoding our
calls, is it actually necessary?

Just my opinion, it's a good idea to keep doing it - so you won't forget when
you go to analog mode.

repeaters linked to 1C. Any transmission on any of the repeaters
is heard on all of the repeaters.
The D-Star Calculator http://www.dstarinfo.com/Calculator/Default.htm shows you
how to use your radio to do this.

[ED: WD7STR does not have a gateway yet, so the WD7STR G doesn't hurt
anything, but doesn't add anything either, WA7FW on the other hand does have an
active gateway so WA7FW G should probably always be there. Using it on
WD7STR will put a code back on your display that basically says
of that situation.

guess that is the
real question here!.
A Reflector is a conference bridge that allows multiple REPEATERS to
be linked into a single conversation. Anything transmitted on any
linked repeater is heard on ALL linked repeaters.

That is an oversimplified explanation.

John,
Thanks for the reply.
If I understand your explanation, using URCALL of CQCQCQ will reach
anyone on frequency UNLESS they are using Callsign Squelch?
Only one of us has a D-Star radio so far (can you say Santa?)
