Excellent point Alan. We have not had any problems yet but it is possible. Not sure if the dstar equip is heavy duty enough to handle constant use.  The only problem we have had is not related to equip but to linking itself. Users seem to disagree on whether it should be linked 24/7 or not. Some

There is one other potential problem with 24/7 linking.. Some of the reflectors stay so busy, that they seem to be permanently in use. This takes any gateway/repeater linked to it out of the Intermittent Service region into heavy duty permanent use! Can DStar repeaters withstand that? Obvi

well now there does not appear to be a situation where subscriber stations can really hurt anything. Now let me point out a case where you might want to allow users to link and unlink. As the system is currently constructed, For blind users, there is no obvious indication that zone calls or
