The issue that I primarily address when I mention the divergence is how Field
Day leaves out VHF/UHF repeaters and associated communication paths. For many
ARES organizations, VHF/UHF is the primary means of Emergency Communications.
Including repeaters, D-STAR, IRLP, Echolink and other methods
D-Star does not need a repeater
You can use simplex and score as a digital mode...
You need to consider D-Star as a digital mode not D-Star mode.
Afterall it is digital. So is Packet, so is PSK, amtor, rtyy etc...
Not any mention that you can't use it that way.

Of the FD rules 7.3.7 Satellite QSOs, 100 bonus points.
On the other packet, APRS, etc in 7.1.3 Digital QSOs count as 2 points (double
phone and same as CW). Since D-Star digital then think it would count.
Repeaters, except Satellite, are not allowed.
