Actually I didn't use any mounting brackets!
I used two thin strips of rubber about 1/2in wide under each side of the drive

Do not know if this is your problem or not, but when we first changed from10 BaseT to

settings/speeds. Once we installed router will all s

Billy,
Thanks that worked perfectly. I'm even online with the 230 at a killer
14,400 speed. Guess I have to just use this Duo for email since the million
java alert messages are really annoying me (Netscape 2.02).
You know a year and a half away from my the network environment and I forget

Had no trouble with Dock II internal ethernet and OS 9.1 -- worked
immediately. Was also able to use Newer Tech mini EtherDock; just had to
install their driver which probably was probably never updated. (Think I
ran 7.6.1 without any special driver.)

Vic,
Thank you for being a resourceful and brave (& replying!)
2300 owner on a 'RAM budget'.
For those interested, I can report that I'm an idiot.
After bringing home a pack of Radio Shack 'Nylon Wire Ties',
I find that I have bought ones only long enough to half-wrap
around the drive! Take two..
I use Speed Doubler with 8.6 with no problem at all. I just made sure that
I got the latest version. It warks very well.

You are trying to solder to stainless or plated metal. You can't do it
without an arc welder (literally!). If you notice the joints on there now
are welded.
Sorry...
