It is a shame this didn't get addressed - despite there being some fixes
that could at least be worked from. Now anyone installing the upcoming
xubuntu are going to have a non working volume control. Get ready for a
lot more bug reports - reflects a little poorly too on ubuntu as a whole

Since I downgraded to 13.04 I will have to wait to upgrade after the
stable 13.10 release is available and re-test, generate the logs and see
if this still exists.

This is ameliorated by lp:~charlesk/indicator-sync/warn-on-dbus-failure
but that doesn't fully explain why getting the bus is failing in the
first place.
