It would be a big advantage if it could be fixed so it is possible to run Linux
like OS X but without this menu issue.

same here - i like to split task among workspaces so i would love to configure
the bar for the individual tasks or at least be able to just see the active
windows of the currently active workspace and not all of them. (I know there is

Not sure why. I checked the keyboard shortcuts. I even tried to change
the shortcut and it recognizes that I'm using the Print key (its a
laptop, so I wan't sure at first).

Not sure where to report this, but there are some odd Ubuntu issues
with many apps. I invoked Ubuntu-bug on octave since its the most
recent app I've tried that has this issue, but changed the package to I
don't know in the web bug-interface.

You're right, the height is correct but the position of the window is
underneath the Unity bar. This is almost certainly a bug in Unity, not
in Octave, since Octave is setting the right height, and I have not seen
this happen in other desktop environments.
