Or the LG Fathom cell phone that also runs Windows Mobile 6. That would be a
kick.
Running DX4WIN, connected to the DXCuster on your cell. Seeing you have to get
home
quick. The missing TJ9 is on!!

Absolutely not!!! The software must never switch active VFO's as it
could be disastrous with amplifiers, tuners and antenna switches
monitoring the CI-V bus especially if the second VFO is on a separate band.
It possibly might work with Main/Sub radios such as IC910, IC775,
IC7800, IC7600 etc.
Hi All,
For what it is worth the IC7800 does not have the switching problem
Even when it is controlled only by the IC7800, this is confirmed by

Ciao Dick and Guy
maybe the logic could be changed in the way of:
IF THE SPLIT IS ACTIVE
THEN
SET VFO-B ACTIVE
READ ACTIVE VFO
END-IF
But still not very safe for all the other equipment on the CI-V chain.
Sometimes the split frequency can drop on the "next frequency segment"
like hap
It is possible to read the second VFO "on demand"
instead of only when polling? I think it would
be safe to bounce the VFOs like you are doing at
the point of writing a log entry and when
processing an ALT-A command. At least I would like to try such a system.

Hi All with Icom tranceivers,
With ICOM announcing that the split status can be read from some of their
radios,
we had hope that support for obtaining the split frequency was finally
possible in DX4WIN.
The way we tried to read the VFO-B frequency is not working as we hoped and
SHOULD NOT BE USED.
Romas,
I thank you for your advice but it does not work for me. For some reason
adding IF; causes DX4Win to delete the selection of the TS950 from the
Radio1. Radio2 (the TS570S) remains the same and loses communication with
the radio after a few seconds, just as it did before.

Hello,
I know that DX4WIN is not a PDA (personal digital
assistant) based program.
Just wondering if anyone ever tried to get DX4WIN to work on
a PDA that runs Windows Mobile 6?

I have solved such problem in my DX4WIN ver.4.07 in this way:
File - Databases - Radios - Kenwood 570 - Menu Values:
insert in Command preamble box "IF;" , without quotation marks
and save changes.
"IF" is a Kenwood command "Reads status of the transceiver"

Something very weird had happened; I have the following setup:
DX4WIN 8.05
FT-1000MP Mark V Field
CPU Intel I7 920 @ 2.67GHz
Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port (COM1) adapter
Windows 7 64bit Home Premium
Until tomorrow everything worked as expected and I haven't noticed any
problem at all. However,
OK that explains it Guy. Anyway, the new rig file works exactly the same
as the old rig file so I'll just leave it in place for now and see what
develops.
Have a good weekend...

I am still on Valentine weekend .. but can read mails
I have asked JIM to withdraw the rigfiles for IC7600 and IC7700
Because the IC-7700 has an other cmd for the split,
I have corrected it and Jim does have them but I asked him
not to make them public YET because there are po
Then it is probably safe to say the 7700 driver is not working properly.
There is no difference in functionality compared to the old driver.
Was it tested? Guy sent me a file at one point and I told him it wasn't
working. I also downloaded the latest one from Jim's site, it doesn't
work either.
Bill,
I also have a TS570S (bought in the US) and get the same results, more or
less. In my case the radio control drops out after a variable time delay,
which can be anything from 10 seconds or so to a couple of hours. I get the
same messages as you. I am also using DX4Win 8.04 but the same proble

Same problem with my 7700!!
not differences from the previous rig file.
PC is connected on the CI-V Remote control jack,
not on RS-232C terminal..
Suggestions will be welcome
