Changing the CW cutoff is correct. You should have left the rig file
alone. Just replace it with a back-up copy.

In the DX Spot window:
When I double click a 30M spot my rig switches to USB. It doesn't matter how
low in the band, it always goes USB. So far this is the only band I have seen
this on. I figured it could be based on the mode selected by the spotter so I
found some stateside spotters just to be
