Why does the com link to the radio work for a little bit then I get a "radio
timed out" pop up?

First, I appreciate all of the responses. My system is Icom 756ProII, microHam
box, dx4win set up. The radio is on and working fine, but the message Radio
Timed Out comes up for no apparent reason. If I then check the microHam
software, it is still reading the information from the radio just
running also, by chance?

ICOM radios work fine with DX4WIN. I have not had the timeout problem. Have
used both 756 Pro and Pro III.
Make sure you are are using latest version of microHam router (3.0.2) and
firmware (2.5).
Also make sure your ICOM is set to a REAL baud rate --- NOT AUTO --- and that
both DX4WIN and micro

Gentlemen, I am running a Flex5000A , DDUTIL Program by K5FR and DX4WIN
v8.05.
The problem is the radio and DX4WIN keep loosing connection. DX4WIN freezes
up right
in the heat of a CW or Phone DX Contest (GRR) the finally un freezes. I
then can go to
the main tab RADIO and click "Start Radio"
Is it possible to configure DX4WIN so that if the radio is turned off, it does
not display the uncomfortable error message?

What are you using for a data rate between DX4WIN and DDUtil? I had to slow
mine down to 9600 or so.

Hi Bill,
First, are you trying to share a COM port between multiple
applications? If so, that does not work.
Does the port number and baud rate show
