This may be dumb of me, but did you do these steps??
Set the ATU parameter to CAL using the menu.
1) Pre-set potentiometers R1 and R2 on the bottom of the ATU
board to exactly their mid-points.
2) Touch the (+) lead of a digital multimeter (DMM) or analog
voltmeter to the small hole near th
I hooked an antenna put it in TUNE and I did hear the relays clicking to
adjust the SWR after coming out of TUNE it indicated r9.9 on 40m, 30m, 20m

all the steps on page #7 when I get to step #11 it states
"Enter TUNE mode MENU and BAND together ( the kx1 will display forward
power, e.g. P4.0 ) adjust C9 for the lowest possible
reading--the null may be sharp. Cancel TUN

Don't be foolish. Nothing is illegal until you are indicted. When I
was in shcool, a friend of mine was involved in an accident with an
ambulance with its siren on. He had his car radio on too loud. I don't
belive that hearing tests are a prerequisite for a driver's license in most
state.
My 20 or so QSOs aren't going to take me very far up the results column but
I did contact a very patient Brazilian station with the K1 by shooting 5
watts out of the end of my multiband dipole on 20M. While it's frustrating

I've finished building my KX1, s/n 1005. The KX1 build time was much
less than the other Elecraft rigs that I've built. It's a sweet little
rig. It does about 3W output with a 12V 1A regulated power supply. I'm
going to get used to it for a bit, after which I'll build and install
