Hello,
being no regular contester and even not using a PC log program for
day to day QSOs (so far) I am a bit challenged by the new EQP rules.
According to the information concerning similar contest rules I
looked around a bit and found N3FJP's "QRP ARCI Log 2.2"
(www.n3fjp.com) as a contest log
Harvey: The seeming peak at the bottom of the slug has a much lower

to find the peak at the top because the response is extremely flat.
The best way to see the peak is by connecting the audio output

Hi everyone. I just finished aligning my K2 with Spectrogram and part of it was
aligning the I.F stage using L34. The manual says to set the slug 1 turn down
from the top and adjust for the largest difference between the internal signal
at 7 MHz and the noise around it. Well, I found that the be
Hi All,
I've just finished a putting together most of the options for the K2, the
final one being the Noise Blanker. Ham fisted as I am, I managed to break
one of the glass bodied diodes (D3 1N34A). I replaced this with a 1N5711
which is listed as an alternative in the manual, but was just wonderi
The parent co. is now of the Loctite products group, who make thread locking
compounds to paint on nuts and bolts.
(Permatex whom I thought of makes the gasket compound, or 'goop'. Both
products, Loctite and the gasket stuff are a kind of 'goop', thus the
confusion.

Don't know the Paddlette, but I love the Palm. I use them for /p
work with the K2 and, once properly adjusted, they are super. You
need to find a way to stabilize them. I have mine mounted on one end
of a piece of plexiglass, say, 2" x 10", supported with six rubber

Guess I have been lucky. For the past year or so I have been using a Daiwa 2
position coax switch between my K2 and TS-950SDX to the amp. While listening
on the 950 through the coax switch I listen to the K2 on the low bands using
my receive antennas. If I want to use the K2 to transmit I use the c
Is anyone in a position to give a comparison of differences, likes, and
dislikes between the Paddlette and Palm Mini keyer paddles? I have a Paddlette
mounted on my K1, and good friend K6MGO is wondering about the virtues of the
German-made Palm Mini in comparison for his K1. Even responses
Thanks to all responders. Someone graciously is

I've got a completely anonymous unbranded one. Nice metallic cable,
completely unlabelled slightly translucent grey block on the 9-pin-male

The one I have that works is from Iogear, model GUC232A. You can Google it
for ordering info. Tiger Direct sells them for $29.99.
I bought a similar one at BestBuy and it didn't work at all. I have no idea
what the difference is. They both looked the same.
I can also second the motion for the mic
The K2 I just ordered is actually my 2nd K2. I ordered one about 5 yrs
ago. I think it had a SN in the 500 range. Anyway, I got the kit but
never started it. I ended up selling it unopened on e-bay and getting
out of ham radio.
Now, 5 yrs later, I'm once again on the air and have come rapidly
I received my first (second, really - more later) Elecraft kit last
night. I got the signal generator. I was quite impressed with the
circuit board. I expected it to be thinner, wimpier. It was quite
beefy. Holding it up to the light I expected to see traces through the
board. Nope, not this
My measurements on ham grade coax switches show 40 dB or less isolation

IN FACT, 60 dB is high even for a commercial grade switch. The simple types

I want to put Win98se on it instead. I seem to have
lost my Win98 CD, but I still have the key. Does
anyone have have a Win98 Second Edition CD that they
would like to part with, hopefully real cheap.

Is there anybody out there using a USB to serial
adapter between their K2 and pc for rig
control/logging? If so, how well does it work, and
what brand are you using? I understand that some of
them work well and some don't. Thanks for the bandwidth.

Hi all,
those of you interested in Software Defined Radio and
good performing DSP applications using a PC maybe
interested on the WINRAD an easy for the user software

It is a powerfull software. I am re-addressing a

Thanks guys for the info.
As a pseudo-semi-pro musician, I have some audio processing gear to put
between the mic and the rig. Mixing board, full parametric EQ,
compressor. Using the EQ, I can dial in the amount of bandwidth I want
but it is for naught if the rig is filtering it out. I prefer a
If anyone would like to help HRD add this level of Filter support - please
contact me off-list. If you have MSN Messenger or SKYPE we can put this
together very quickly, initially by using the HRD Macro buttons.
In HRD I do support the FW filter options but not the special DSP stuff,
