Geoff, I believe that might be possible if the package size and pinout are the same as the AD9834, but the firmware would have to change too. If it were not for the firmware problem, adventuresome souls would be able to experiment a bit with it. 73, Don W3FPR > -Original Message- > I

Hello all, Most of you didn't work NU3E or WA3WSJ during the PBMME and here's the reason. John, NU3E, and myself hiked the snow-covered trail 5.5 miles to Eagle's Nest Shelter on the Appalachian Trail on Saturday morning. As we arrived, the temperature was a balmy 20 degrees. We set up camp and

Sorry about my previous reply, I don't know what happened there. Anyway, I checked in with my new KX1, S/N 1644, running 3W from here in PA. Lots of QRN and QSB so difficult copy. I also listened on 40m but didn't hear much there. I heard Kevin once but not strong enough that I would have even

Kevin, I also like the hail sign procedure. Tom heard mine while you were calling for QNI, even tho my signal didn't reach you - next time you called he quickly tapped out HYD AS and I tapped R, and knew to wait. Sure enuf he called me back for the QSP. Now the dumb question: do I respond to N

Don, I think that for use in a kit it would probably have to be supplied as part of a factory assembled 'module' if the KX1's firmware could be changed. It is packaged in a Thin Plastic Quad (SV-48) with 48 legs / leads which require careful soldering and the chip needs some form of heat sink.

Hi! I'm getting ready to install my KSB2 in #5757. I'm pretty sure that the Heil Proset will work with the standard Icom jumpers, but I'm not sure what, if any, resistor I'll need. Anyone have experience with this combination that can give me some hints? Thanks a lot!!! Jim, WD9HBC K2 #5757

Jim, All Heil Prosets are not created equal, you must be specific about the type, but I will assume your subject line indicating the ProSet-iC is the one you have purchased. If that is so, and you purchased the Icom adapter from Heil, then you simply wire your K2 mic configuration header for the

Don, You are an absolute fountain of information! Yes, I have the Icom adapter from Heil and the set works perfectly on my 746. I suppose another way to approach this is to get the Kenwood adapter from Heil, making the K2 mic configuration easier and maybe more standard. I'll have to ponder
