Besides the "current" issue, has anyone used this device? My limited
experience with audio DSP's (GAP's "Hear It" inline module) is that they
work reasonably well for moderate to strong signals. But, when you get
into the low signal strength area and high noise, the seem to "cut out"

about 145% increase in current drain on receive. It may be good at
home but looks like it would eat batteries for field use.
If the DSP can be done at a much lower current it would be an interesting idea.

I figured out my tune-up issue. After some pondering, checking that all
of the pieces were in the right spot and looking at the data about the
test points in the back of the book I figured out that I needed to tweak
R39. Once I did that I started getting RF output and then the rest of
the tune

Your absolute insistence on checking parts in conjunction with
knowing exactly where the signal was lost lead to a grand discovery.
I had the two groups of three inductors reversed! The inductors are
are shipped with the cores even with the top of the cans and they
have no exterior

Thanks for the advice. I did it the easy way. Looking at the other jacks etc
it seems that they are mounted to the enclosure panels, so probably no Pin 1
problems with them. The microphone jack is the odd one out as it is mounted
via tabs to the pcb.

I have K3 #168 mounted /M in my 18 wheeler and with all the noise in the
cab,and my less than perfect hearing its a struggle for me to hear my
sidetone. If improvements could be made to incease volume it would be a
great help to me as I'm CW 95% of the time.

I put a request for help up unto the list before Christmas. I had an issue
with the TX on the higher bands. On 20m and above the power dropped off
considerable. I had a couple of emails and have now had a chance to check

Answer - The BL2 is rated at 250W. The BL1 was rated
BL1 is only 150W, BL2 = 250W - but it looks like Elecraft have dropped the
BL1 now, not on mini module page or in order form
