Don,
That solved the problem. I set the RF=50, then did a direct frequency
entry. It is working great.
That was a bit confusing. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Hi Folks,
There seems to be a little contest going on this weekend which will take the
CW bands by storm. Relax, enjoy the contest, cut firewood, see the sights,
your choice. ECN will be back on the air again next weekend at the same times
and frequencies as usual.
Have a great weekend
The S-Meter is important to my operation, it tells me if the band is going out
when the frequency of s-Meter dips below some minimum level increase greatly in
a short period of time.
So absolute accuracy as compared to any other standard is not important to me,
but I -must- be able to see the d
Once calibrated to an accurate reference, LP-PAN provides an extremely
accurate S-Meter in dBm, in addition to the display. +/- 2dB absolute
accuracy can be obtained by using an Elecraft XG-2 mini module as the
reference for calibration. The linearity is better than 1 dB over a
115dB range. T

Assuming you are using the K22; extended mode, use

Except for contests (where I use N1MM) I use ACLOG for all of my
general logging. I have not had issues with ACLOG. It is very handy
for uploading to LOTW. It would be nice if the interface was a bit
more configurable.

Hi Guy
It seems that the consensus is that a pretty innacurate S-meter is ok.
I dont know why everything related to ham radio has to be reduced to the bare
minimum or be in the totally useless category. Not everyone's ham radio life
revolves around giving out cookie cutter signal reports.
Does anyone have a list of Amps the use Positive ALC feedback?

The PW-1 will bandswitch based on CI-V data or a variable
DC voltage. The microHAM Band Decoder (if you can find
one) and microHAM Station Master can provide the K3 CAT
to Icom CI-V conversion. microHAM microKEYER II also has
an auxiliary CI-V output that will provide current frequency
data
My PW-1 follows the ICOM exciter's frequency by monitoring the CI-V bus.
That enables it to track the WARC bands, something you can't do with the
ICOM band voltage method.

Simply overwrite the memory one wants to be cleared with the IM character

Procedure: Hit REC, Tap M# to be cleared, send IM together, then hit REC.
Works for me..

I found the problem. I had used KComm software yesterday. I used the 5
watt setting and this caused a loss of control over 12 watts on the front
panel dial. The 25 and 100 watt levels work fine. I will post this to the

it would be nice to know how others do it.

Hi, Don,
I did double-check and the RANT is off.
What you say about the RF setting is interesting. I am confused about what
that setting is supposed to be.
If I set RF=36 (the IF of the Transverter) then the display comes up as
50XXX.XX. If I set the RF=50, the display comes up as 64XXX.XX.
Ron,
You should hear a bit of 'band noise' on all bands - in other words, the
noise level should increase when the antenna is connected.
Do not rely on continuity readings for T3 and T4. Look at the leads
carefully. There should be a bit of tinned lead showing above the board
and on the sold
