Well I just placed the order for the SubRX today so I should be getting
that cable in the box. Here's hoping that all goes well with the
install as I won't have much time to get replacement parts from Elecraft
before FD if there are any issues.

As long as you're still reading suggestiosn on per-mode RX EQ for the

I think it'd be really fascinating to see RX EQ combined with AGC for

Have you enabled all the wide roofing filters in CW mode?

Hi Bill,
If the sub receiver is installed but turned off, the K3's current
consumption in receive mode should be around 1 to 1.2 amps depending on
other installed options, supply voltage, etc. At 5 watts in transmit

Hi Wayne,
I would like to use my K3 for Field Day again this year. I have installed the

Lately there has been some discussion about how much gain to add when
compensating for loss in the K3's individual crystal filters. The
general guideline is "as little as possible." I'd suggest starting with
0 and working up to as high as a few dB only if it seems necessary.

One of the complaints regarding the Orion 2 was that it took an engineer to
use it. A good friend was advised by a top operator in ARRL that he might
better consider a PRO 3 than the Orion 2 which was too complex. The idea

It seems to be the way of life that one person's requirement to "add

With so many cooks suggesting new seasonings, it's a wonder the

Hi Steve. Apparently there has been a problem with the messages to me from
the LP-PAN Yahoo Group, so this digest is the first I am aware of your post.
Sorry about that. I think it has been resolved now.
It sounds like you may have to check your gain setting in LP-PAN, as well as

Another vote for this feature request. It seems it should be feasible

That is a very interesting project, and I am sure you really enjoyed
creating the box.
The KRC2ACC is expressly designed for this purpose. It reports almost
all K2 information through CW, and has many key functions to let the
op know just what is going on with the K2 and to maintain better
But, you don't get the BNC connector and cable until you get the KRX3. I don't
remember having any trouble routing the cable when I installed the KRX3 months

One of my HAM friends is white sticker. He would be happy to get a K2 usable

Steve,
Although a long shot, among the possible causes of your problem is a
defective roofing filter, defective in terms of signal handling capability
but otherwise OK.
To eliminate this possibility, have you tried switching roofing filters with
the LP-Pan disconnected?
