I find these comments fascinating and highly appropriate for a K3 forum.
The K3 with its modularity and close communication between user and
manufacturer is the ideal place for adapting new technology to HAM
radio.
As a heavy user of technology outside of HAM radio, I think I have some
opinions

I updated my firmware to 4.14, but still no joy. I did have the K3 lock
up last week and Elecraft support walked me through a hard reset. I
thought I had things back to normal, but now I'm not sure.
No matter what I SAV, NOR always goes to the default 400hz on I or II.
Yup, thanks

Ah! That's the ticket. I missed the part on the hold AND twist to get
the custom bandwidth recalled.
Many thanks!

Hams used to solve that problem with club stations. A group of Hams would

BT is a great idea, but to do it right, you wouldn't want to make it
available for only mics speakers. Once you have the BT chipset in the K3,
there's no reason why you couldn't implement BT serial connectivity to a
notebook computer, as well. The P3 and K3 could communicate with each other

I agree that, if the same problem exists with the dummy load, it's not RF
feedback. (Especially the audio is OK with an amplifier and antenna.) A poor
connection is the must likely suspect.

good reviews. The question I'd like to ask has to do with whether you'd

I've been using the Samlex 1235 with my K3, with no problems. So far, I've not
detected any RF from it.
However, it does NOT have built-in overvoltage protection, which means if
anything goes wrong with its voltage regulator it could fry your radio. I
prefer not to take that chance, so I
I've got the Samlex 1235 with the meters. One of the meters was way off
calibration. When the fan kicks on, it's really loud. I quit using the thing
and got a nice Astron 35m which is totally silent. I hate fan noise.

If you're after decent shielding to keep RF out of the circuit, Radio Shack
might have what you want. Nowadays a high impedance is typically 1 or 2K
ohms instead of the 50K ohms are more common a few decades ago. Audio cable
shielding has been reduced accordingly - especially from lower-cost
AD5X tested the Samlex 1235, and also describes a very simple mod to run the
fan continuously at low speed. With the mod, the fan probably won't run at the
high speed during normal operating. If your K3 is drawing enough current to
turn on the PS fan, the K3 fans will probably be running

Tried that. It was also too loud. The K3's fan is quiet. I also have the
