What may havew happened is your finals have failed. Try removing T3. This will
remove 12V from the finals. Try to see if it will then power up. If so you have
found your answer. Order a new set.

The P3 SVGA adapter will allow you to connect an external screen (monitor)
to the P3. It will not change the operation of an external program (like CW
skimmer) at all.

amp before I installed the second receiver. For transmit at 10 watts I would ad
about 3 amps to that. Two layers of bubble wrap would not be enough for MY K3.

A loaded K3 on receive should be under 1.5 A even with all guns
blazing. If it's 2 amps, try switching options off (starting with the
sub RX) to see what's up. Another possibility is incorrect resistance
at the current-sense resistor, so confirm the reading using an
external ammeter.

voluntarily put up a 50% deposit when the K3 was introduced. This helped
fund the growth needed for the company to bring that product to market. It

We've had some questions about the whip antenna shown in the KX3 data-
sheet photo. It's a Maldol AH-C14 20-meter loading coil and AH-R
telescoping whip. Total length is about 48 inches.
I've made QSOs of up to 3000 miles using this type of whip, handheld,
while walking with the KX1 and dragg
I got a new K line from Santa (N1GMR) and built the K3 (loaded) and P3 in 1
day. Works perfectly.
The KPA500 I had to assemble the next day. ;-)
The amp came from W6 with a 120 V line cord, so, I used that and plugged
into one of the three 20A 120 V circuits I have here in the shack.

always had fun using it.
It was the way I learned to paddle.
After I got the K3, the first 2 years I used the internal K3 keyer and it

To my surprise and confusion, the K3 appeared to be drawing 2.7A with the

Exactly. I filter my Elecraft email by model. Each rig Elecraft produces has
it's own folder and the mail therein gets read when/if I want. No wearing out
of the delete or mouse button.

Once the pin out of the jack is published, you could make your own adapter
for whichever headset/microphone you desire. The headphone jack is separate
from the mic jack (i.e.- there is no audio out available on just the mic
jack).
