Hi All,
The Koss SB40 is fine with the K3 if you remove the nasty dynamic insert
and replace with an eletret insert. This is an easy job for the K3 as
the bias components are already built in, and you only need two conductors.

I use NaP3 with LP Bridge and Ham Radio Deluxe. I can control my
KX3 with either my logging software or NaP3.
IMHO, you really need to think about being able to make BOTH your
logging software and your display software know where you are tuned and

The reverse polarity protection does not work without the fuses.

I, too, have a Koss SB45 and can confirm Tom's findings.

You missed the fact that you really can't/shouldn't try to discharge the
full capacity of the battery. The life span of SLA batteries for instance,
are greatly reduced if you routinely go to greater than 50% depth of
discharge.
Bruce is right. QST had an article last month for a programmable LED to
monitor battery voltage. It is easy to make. You should monitor the resting
voltage to provide some margin from over discharging

NAP3 crashes when KX3 USB/Serial cable is plugged in. LP Bridge works fine with
it. HDSDR and OmniRig work fine with it. Running a MacBook Air with Parallels 7
and WinXP.
If I unplug the cable NAP3 runs fine but that kinda defeats the purpose.

Actually, the K2 has a built-in alarm that can be used to indicate a low
battery voltage.
It is the CAL CUR menu setting. Its use for that purpose is a little
bit 'convoluted' because it depends on the way the K2 power control

My W2 seems to read about as well as my Bird wattmeter from QRP to QRO is it
as good as a Oak Hills Research's QRP WM-2 no but few are. Is it an Alpha
4510 no but reads close to mine at a fraction of the cost.
