I agree with Tom. I am AF MARS, we operate on lot's of Federal frequencies,
all outside the Ham bands. Just need to pay attention to your operating which
we all should be doing.

try them all until finding one that works. There is no guarantee

Got the K3 and KPA500 working well. It is a nice package. No problems. As I
have a SteppIR antenna I use a N8LP SteppIR Tuning Relay in series with the
Key Put - PA Key line.
I have the key line interrupter plugged into the K3. I am using the KPAK3AUX

I don't think it is anything to worry about. That is only a 4%
variation which is quite small in such things in amateur equipment.
The power control loop is controlled digitally. I don't know how many
bits are involved in the calculation, but I would bet the DAC steps are
2 or 3 watt

The processor and Win 7 64 isn't a problem I would guess the Prolific chip
set or your software are the most suspect. I have been using nothing but USB
inputs for the last 6 to 8 yrs if not more and no issues except for software
and drivers.

watts, which allows amp tuneup to be started at lower power with less
likelihood of damage due to a switching or antenna mistake.

If the parameter is set to BAND SEL, frequency memories 0-9 (“quick
memories”) will act like band switches. Once this mode has been
selected, exit the menu, then use V > M to assign individual bands to
keypad switches 0-9. F

May I suggest that you use a 'workaround' until that problem can be
resolved. Copy the quick memories into 10 other memory locations - say
memories 10 thru 19. Then if something (including punching the wrong
buttons), you can restore the quick memory locations easily.
