How much deflection do you see on the ALC meter? Need to check out the
settings on the sound card, the mike level on the rig and in WSJT-X. Also
the settings under the Sound settings/Advanced settings/ app settings to be
sure the source is set to the correct device. And Windows updates like to

A few brief and random thoughts…
You say the CAT control is working...Does the KX3 actually go into TX mode in
FT8, or does it just sit there? Are you keying the rig via CAT, or via VOX and
if VOX, is it enabled and levels adjusted?
You say it works in SSB…when you reconnected it to your PC sou
I got my KX3 out that I haven't used in almost a year to get ready for Field
Day and I can't get it to TX when using FT8. My setup is KX3/KXPA100, OCFD,
Windows 10, WSJT-X v. 2.5.4. On RX it's working properly, I'm seeing the
world.
The antenna is tuned, the CAT control is working, the amp

extends to all their amps. KL7UW

Kevin:
The duty cycle on FT-8 mode is ~50%. The KPA1500 and KPA500 are both
very adequately rated for this mode and for rated outputs, 1500 watts
and 500 watts respectively.
Your K2 is rated at 10 watts output! At 15 watts, just because it will
do it, is no reason to run that power level.
Hi Hans,
A menu entry required for use with the KXIBC2 is already in place because the
unit has been prototyped. The rest of the documentation will not be released
until we get ready to ship it. As with everything else these days, the supply
chain is the limiting factor.

Does any one know how to start a second (or third instance) of the W2 Interface
program so it will use a different set of preferences. What I need is to be
able to have two instances of the program running with different serial ports.
Many programs allow you to specify the location of the pref
The engineer that created the amp recently said that you should let the
amp handle the fans. It should be in the archives here on this list.

To measure RF power accurately, it needs to be into a Known Impedance.
I would run the RF Calibrate Test, in the K3 Utility program.

Please share any data you have that supports any claim than running continuous

control the fans based on PA temperature.

My K3 seems to send out ~50w (1.5:1 SWR) to the antenna. If I connect a dummy
load, ~40w (1.1:1 SWR).Should it send out more RF power or this is what is
expected.? I thought I read it should be something around 90w (?)
Any suggestions.?
Thanks,

In the notes for new firmware on kx2 itis mentioned:

Dors that indicate a special hardware changement?
I cannot find the manual for kxibc2 anywhere.
