Yep, the K3S did start at 10K, I think they jumped about 1000 units to start
with the new MSD, AND like the subject says, the KX3 is at 10k+ units, but I
don't think they skipped any numbers, I could be wrong though, but itlooks to
be the highest produced radio of the Elecraft line!

Just wondering if anyone has gotten the paddles yet for the KX2?
Yes, I know there is an update on the Elecraft shipping page, but I find it
hard to trust
given that the date shows "Expected to Ship by this Friday, July 10, 2016 (or
earlier)"
in 2016 July 10th is a Sunday...

Hi Group,
I have a question on the display on the PX3, when listening to some
people on 75M AM, I notice that the bandwidth display is very lop-sided,
showing more than twice the coverage on one side than the other.. Also
when adjusting the BW of the filter, it reduces the BW displayed on the
Hi Jeff,
I am not sure that there is a way to look at the KX3 PA temp when you have the
100W PA engaged. I have turned the external amp off in the config to see the
temps of the QRP amp..
It would be nice if the internal amp temp would always be visible as a
selection on the display

Well, while everyone is putting out their wish lists..
While there is a glut of cheap FM HT and mobile VHF/UHF stuff, I don't think
that 2M/430 is represented enough..
FM is only one small bit of the upper bands, CW, SSB, Data (high speed mesh
networks) and video are there too..
Cheap FM
Hi All,
I got a copy of the software for running the OSB nulling from elecraft the
other day, and
it seems to work well. It does not have a very informative U.I. All you do is
set the com ports
for the generator and the radio, and then turn it loose. About 20 or so min.
later it
Hi Mike,
Not yet . I asked about this feature shortly after I got my KX3 which was
delivered to my house while I was on my way driving to the Dayton
Hamvention.(talk about mixed feelings about going to Dayton! couldnt wait to
get it over with and get back home! )
I have bad noise problems in
Today on the Elecraft ssb net I announced that the 4 States QRP group was going
to have a special event station on the air next weekend... This was a mix up
on my part.. the date for the event is Sept 8 and 9th.
Please see the groups web page at. 4sqrp.com
There will be at least 2 KX3s
I don't usually go on about this stuff but...
I agree that there should be some content for continuity, but I see a lot of
people don't take the time to trim off the greater excess.. when that happens
in digest form then the e-mail just gets clutter with a lot of redundant junk
posted over and
Yes, it is. I hope that they are wrong..And take a look at this (I don't know
how long the web page will keep up the artical)

this report which was the basis for it
Lee,
One thing that I have found works well for removing solder quickly
and 'cleanly' is inertia..
I place a small bit of scrap carpet on the edge of my workbench to
act as a PCB stop pad, so as not to damage the board. Add a little
solder to the thru hole you are working on until it bridges
Charles, I looked your question up, its on page 23 in the K3 operators manual..
Use the manual button, and VFO_B to adjust.
Hope that helps you some..

I haven't downloaded the very last update for the radio but the
revision notes for the latest don't say anything about what I am
seeing.
When I move the lo-cut control upward, I hear the audio change like
it should. The display of the low cut freq. though will go up to some
point, and then wrap
Hello David,
Let me try to clear up what I was trying to say..
This is what I think is happening:
The radio has a Real Time Clock chip that keeps track of the
time when the radio is powered off. From what I see, the
radio will 'read' that chip to find out what the time is when it powers up.
Hello, I was wondering if anyone has noticed the accuracy of the
real time clock in their K3?
Mine seems to be loosing about 1 sec. for every min. that goes by
as compared to WWV on 2.5 Mhz if left on. If I shut the rig off
and re-power it, jumps to some goofy time and date. Today the
date
Well, found that the battery that I used on the RTC backup was NG.
Measured it and it didn't have any B+. I had another of the same
size and now the battery backup works FB!
Also, as far as time keeping, it seems my radio looses about
1 second each min. In 1 hour 16 min. it was off by 1
You might want to look over the Morse Express web pages..
http://www.mtechnologies.com/keys.htm
They have a list of keys from about $10.00 on up to $1500.00
I like the Palm Radio paddle and keyers for use when away from the shack..
Otherwise I have a bencher paddle I use at home.
Hope that
Fred N3CSY asked:
I'm another limited space, restricted community
ham (for now). I've been considering different
types of verticals which might be best. I THINK,
I'm looking for an antenna which:
- vertical ?
- no radials
- no counterpoises
- no guy-wires
- 40 thru 10
- maybe 4
