I am in the final phases of finishing my KPA100, version "C" with
upgrade kit for "D".version. Manual page 46 (version C manual)
External Amplifier Keying Test (PA KEY),
right hand column, step 2, "measure ground to Q9 tab. Result as
noted in the manual.

Can anyone tell me what the KAT100 Rev E entails. Just now I am
installing Rev D and E seems to be out already.

Ron is right in his comments.
I'll add a few. When I solder parts I solder one end and check if the
part is seated correctly, if not, it is easy to correct. With a small
pliers I apply a light pressure to the lead and heat the connection.
After it is cooled somewhat the other lead is solde

I am working on a KPA100, page 43 manual, here the KPA is connected to
the K2 with the ribbon cable, power to the K2 but NO power connected to
the KPA100.
page 43 list a series of voltage tests ""ground to test point". my
problem is with D13. I do not get any voltage at D13 ban

On page 41, "Alignment and Installation" Resistance measurements are
made between ground and test point. J3, Q1 Collector, Q2 collector,
and Q9 tab are all within the the spec,s as listed in the tabl

I just completed my K2 and working on the KPA100. I am having some
problems with the initial tests.
Manual has revision D included as a correction sheet.
Page 20 of manual has list of resistance points to be measured. All
points are within tolerances.
Firmware of K2 is 2.04P

My construction of the K2 is progressing, SSB and noise limiter are
installed and I installed the 160 M module this afternoon. Just after
sunset the 160 meter band was full of activity.
I have a concern about the 160 meter alignment.

Thanks for all the hints and suggestions. The unit works fine now. One
of Don's, W3FPR, suggestions was to check for shorts between coils and
the crystal cases with a piece of paper. It worked and signals are now
load and clear.

I am constructing a K2, 5669 and just installed the KSB2 mod. All
alignment tests for the K2 and the KSB2 where as noted in the manuals.
I have however one cause for concern.
The Audio is low. I have to turn the AF gain to fully clockwise to
hear stations. Before I install

Had a similar problem. Building K2 5669, check U4 carefully, cold
solder joints etc. Check your Q in the center front of the board. I
am not at my hamshack but will look tomorrow which Q could be the
problem. In my case it was U4. good luck Hank WA9QJH
