The PX3 supports CW/RTTY/PSK text display. Did this ever get added to the P3?
I think it was on the 'wish' list. Sure would be nice to have in conjunction
with the SVGA addon!

I finally upgraded my little KX1 to a new KX3. LOVE the KX3! Intent is to use
it mainly when I travel, but also as a nice QRP addition to the shack. My
K3/KPA500 combo is still my main shack rig. One of the things I want to try is
using the KX3 with is low power digital modes, like WSPR and
I use an Elecraft KX1 and an Anker Astro Pro2 LION battery when I go QRP in the

full 3 watt level. However, the last two times I used this arrangement, I had
the Anker battery shut down on me. It would power right back
Anyone from Elecraft, will the K3/P3/SVGA ever have the ability to decode on
the P3/SVGA attached big screen while NOT sending the decoded output to the K3

that decoded text to the K3, but it sure would be nice to

The P3 SVGA doesn't do CW, RTTY, or PSK31 decoding. The K3 does the
decoding and presents it in the VFO B area. A copy is available through
I totally agree with N7US. It sure would be nice to just preserve VFO B, and
let the decode flow to the other devices.

I second that request. A reason I don't have a P3/SVGA card is what you have
pointed out.

I discovered the same thing. I still use the front connector, but now I have a
stereo to mono adapter in the mic line plugged into the AD-1K. Works perfect.

I installed a KBPF3 option, and it works OK, mostly. I also have a PR6, so I
am trying to use the BYPASS connector of the PR6. I have pulled the jumper in
the PR6, so the BYPASS would would work. And it does, as long as my KPA500
cable is disconnected. When I connect the KPA500 control cable,
I changed over to the 10-6 K3 preamp, and now have a PR6 for sale. I have the

I am trying to decide if I should invest in an SVGA card for my P3. I know
about all the nice features that the SVGA card will give me, but I have been
told by a top contester that the K3 decoder is not as good as MMTTY. I like on
occasion to do FSK/D, and have been using the built in function
But, I do not have a P3 SVGA card. I know how well MMTTY/EXTFSK works. I've
used it. The question is: is the native K3 FSK/D decoder as good or better than
MMTTY?
Before I charge off and drop $300 on the SVGA card and monitor, to use mainly
for RTTY, is it worth it? I am content with the P3,
towards
using the external TTL box.
