I've been hamming since 1962 so I do have some experience in the hobby.
I built and operated an Elecraft K1 in 2001, a K2 in 2004 and a k3 in 2007. I
have not had any problems with any of them. The K1 doesn't get used much any
more but the K2 I use occasionally because it is a really fun radio to
My one monitor has 2 inputs, one is the standard VGA and the other is a DVI-D
(3 rows of 8 pins and 1 flat pin). So if I had a card with a DVI-D out I should
be able to connect the PC to the monitor. I googled "DVI-D". One of the hits
was Amazon and it showed many cards but they only described t
Thanks for all your inputs on this.
My PC has only one video out and it is VGA. Studying the pictures of DVI
connectors, the DVI input on my monitor is DVI-D so it will not accept DVI
analog.
I could add a video card with DVI output to my PC. However, searching the
internet it appears there
I had planned to use my one video monitor which has has both a VGA connector
and DVI connector with my PC and the P3SVGA. I ordered a cable with VGA male
and DVI male connectors to interface the SVGA. However, the cable I got has a
DVI connector which does not match the one on the monitor. The c
This is a new (but not my first k3). It has the KPA3,

then with coax to the rig. The KAT3 normally tunes it 1:1 on 80/40/30/20, which

Guy and Don made the right call. Thanks, I was off on a tangent and not the

I have another 88' foot long dipole which we use for our CW station at Field
Day. So I strung it up in a temporary location and bypassed the other dipole as
a test. No more HIGH SWR message. It tunes

I don't get the emails just the digest show your emails to me.
I agree the antenna should be the first place and in fact I did look at it
hanging in the air but I have not lowered it to give it a closer inspection.
Unfortunately my antenna analyzer is one MFJ's first and only gives
Thanks, Fred. But no I was on the right antenna. I tried all kinds of things.
And a couple of times I got back to where it was tuning normally, but as soon
as I turned on the sub-receiver and tried to transmit, I would get the HIGH SWR
message and after that if I did a tune it would not go below

I am trying to help a friend configure n1mm to work with his k3. My k3 works
fine with n1mm from both my desktop and laptop. They both use a serial db9 to

I made a few contacts in the EQP with K2 #4155. Last year we had a month
to submit our summary. The link has already been removed from the web
page. Am I too late?
I don't remember all the details. Can someone help?
Thanks es 73,

Remember the thread on RS Hughes as a source for Multicore solder. I
ordered 2 rolls off their web site last September 30th. They arrived
today. No communications in the interim. They just showed up. Guess I'll
have to start on another K2.

Fellow Elecrafters:
Last night I was doing some of the never ending administrative tasks
around the shack here and my K2 was sitting on 7045 khz when Chuck,
KI4DGH came on calling CQ. I recognized his call from one I had seen
here on the reflector. We had a nice K2 to K2 QSO, cut short when my

Thanks for posting the link to the Elecraft awards. They are great

Hello Elecrafters, I have a little problem and would appreciate some
advice.
My ham shack is in a room which is separated from the main house.
Consequently, it does not receive heat from the main house and during
this cold weather is only heated when I am in the room and even then I

I thought I might have over tightened the screws and bent the frame but

suggested was to do a little *gentle* prying between the magnet and the

I'm at the alignment part III for my K2 #4155. The first step, on 40
