thought ESD protection was OK. Maybe faulty from the start. Maybe me.
Who knows?
Anyway, working correctly on both NB1 and NB2 now with no reduction of
gain. Just need to find another 2N7000 for my XV60 board.
Thanks again and Happy New Year.

using NB2.
If gain should be unaffected, I would be grateful for any pointers of
where to look.
Many thanks.

e fed up a dedicated wire connected to pin 2. In my older
mic the signal cable (pin 1) doubles as signal and preamp voltage carrier.

You must be a subscriber to post to the li
d since 1968 and built lots of kit, but the Elecraft products are
high up amongst the trouble free.
Even hope to modify an XV144 for the 70Mhz band soon.
Keep up the good work.

which works very well with the low level transverter output from a
TS430s. I am also just about to complete an XV50 in the next few days.
Shortly, I will be starting my K2 kit and when this is finished, will be
looking to connect it via the K60XV.

n has some (untested) details about converting the
XV144 to 70Mhz.
I'm sure he would be very willing to pass on the info to anyone
interested. However, he did say that they were untested.
When I hear from him, I'll get back to you if that's OK?

70Mhz. Might be useful to know if someone has
tried this already to save reinventing the wheel.
I know this is a slim chance because 70Mhz is only available in UK and
some European countries and therefore is not as popular as 6m or 2m.

Hi David & all,
Firstly, let me say a sincere thank you to the folk who have replied
both on and off the list. I have received about six or seven "off list"
emails, all of which have stated how stable the combination is for them.

Hi to all from a new member to the list. I just ordered a K2 kit plus
the add-ons and an XV50 and an XV144.
I am very interested in weak signal working on VHF and to that end have
also ordered the XVOVN crystal oven for the XV144. Assuming that this
makes the transverter very stable, can I just a
