Thanks much for posting this!
Is your driving loop approximately 10% the diameter of the full size?
If I remember, that's how I did my loops.
Totally awesome to have a vacuum cap!!
Makes the whole design so much nicer.
I picked up a surplus motorized potentiometer to drive my cap and

Hi Stan,
I've built a number of mag loops.
I've used aluminum tubing, copper, and hard-line coax as the main
sections.
I purchased a dead AEA HI-Q loop unit on ebay for cheap years ago and
pulled the capacitor off it.
The ERP is off-course compromised compared to a dipole.
However, its advantages
Just a fun note:
I got this little circuit in the mail yesterday and put it together last
night.
Its pretty cool, but lacks AGC in the front-end for serious use.
It comes with a gain pot and it really does find zero-beat well.
For kicks I might add AGC to it to see how effectual it might be.

Hi Ed,
The manual indicates that the LED will come on if an unrecognized
command is issued by the controler chip.
Did the modification change anything on the connector J3?
In off-chance, disconnect the two PCBs, clean the connectors and
re-assemble?
Just some off-the cuff thoughts.

Hi Steve,
A wierd quirk on my part, is I fuss over my K2's Filter settings.
It took me about an hour, and a little home-brewed rock-solid signal
source, but I am able to get all 4 filters so that I can not hear any
shift at all in tone from one filter to the next.
I know I'm a strange bird
But hey

I needed to make a Digi-Key order last week, so I added a little clock
osc to the order.
Digi-Key PN: X208-ND, 7.3728Mhz Clock oscillator $2.13
Dug up 3 470pF caps and a couple of 1uH chokes for a low pass on the
output.
Added small lm7085 regulator and put it into a small plastic box with 1
