DavidIt will work fine. I'm am using a KAT/KPA 500 with a Kenwood 590 using the
Kenwood cable. The amp and tuner follow the Kenwood just like they do my K3S.I

My K3S lost both power out and receive when set to 13 watts or more. Everything
worked fine at 12 watts or below.It turned out to be a bad solder joint.Good

I had the exact same problem with my K3s.It was a problem with the 100 watt
power amp.It took a little bit before they got to me but it has been repaired
and is scheduled to be back today.All told it took about a month.Be patient

I use my KPA 500 in SSB and CW ops. Much of it as net control on traffic nets
and passing traffic. A little pile up breaking during DXing and some hunt and
pounce contesting.Temps usually hover around 50c with some trips to mid to
upper 50s.I don't remember seeing it hit 60c.In almost four years
While I was taking the Advanced written test the phone in the room rang. The
test administrator picked it up, listened a bit. Then a look of disgust
appeared on his face. Then he lowered the phone, looked around the room and
asked "HAS ANYBODY SEEN A BASH BOOK HERE?" We all grinned back at him
The fans on my KPA 500 kick on at 50C and shut down when the temperature gets

was to remove the Kenwood cable, just hook up the ptt line and let the KAT/KPA
