John,
Have you submitted these items as a bug report to the N1MM Logger+
developer team? I bet they would appreciate hearing about your issue.

Here are the solutions to my questions:
1. FSK/AFSK Mode - The solution was to set the RTTY mode in N1MM to AFSK
2. Intermittent failure to go to receive after transmit: There are at
least three ways to setup the K3 and N1MM for RTTY AFSK PTT:
a. Use Serial RTS for PTT
b. Use "PTT via
Hi John, experienced this once or twice myself. There is a setting in N1MM+
to check. From the N1MM+ log entry window, select Config, Mode Control and
in the combo box against "Mode RTTY" select "AFSK" for the appropriate
Radio/VFO. That may also resolve your hung PTT; VOX should then work.
These are N1MM + questions. The mode selection is in the N1MM / MMTTY
configuration.
The hanging PTT is from multiple instances of PTT asserted. I had this problem
with my IC-7610, but I had too many PTTs in the configuration.
N1MM documentation should contain specific documentation for setup
1) Are you changing bands on the rig or by using N1MM+?
a) If "rig" - Data Mode is stored by band. Change it on each band.
b) If "N1MM+" - be sure to set "Digital Modes" to AFSK
Second, the K3 is staying in Transmit after the RTTY message is
finished. I usually have to press the XMIT
I've recently changed from FSK to AFSK, and having issues. FWIW, I am
using N1MM with 2Tone as my RTTY interface, with the K3 internal sound card.
First, When I go to DATA MD, it is always set to FSK D. I reset it to
AFSK A and it works; however, if I change bands, it resets itself to FSK
D.
Mike, MMTTY expects the transceiver to be set to LSB. If yours is set to
USB, click the REV button in MMTTY

I'm trying to help a new K3 owner set up for RTTY using MMTTY and AFSK A. I
have a Mac, he's running Win XP.
I added a USB sound card (mic and fones) and stereo cables in and out. Win
recognizes it, and I chose it in MMTTY and Win.
Mark and space agree. Vox is on, and the vox settings should
Hi,
I'm trying to setup my K3 for RTTY, I have MMTTY not sure if is the
best option with SignaLink USB,
no serial only USB and a laptop with Windows 7 or a Mac OS X.
I think I had been able to receive and to PTT but no output.
Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciate, thanks.

Juan,
Did you connect the SL USB output to the K3 Line In?
Is the K3 MIC SEL set for LINE IN?
Check your SignalLink for the sound output level, most are set to
microphone level, but the K3 line in needs line level which is a much
higher level signal. Find the jumper for the SL and change it.
PSK31 or RTTY? I think i
can receive these modes with just the one serial port connection, but not
sure about sending.

Hi Dave,
For sound card digital modes other than RTTY, you use the
K3's DATA A mode. This does not require
I only use one serial port here running FSK/MMTTY under N1MM and it controls my

What do you mean by controls, Ralph? Can you change frequency from the
computer? Does N1MM have frequency information from the radio?
If so, I would love to know how you are
I'm running into problems interfacing my K3 with MMTTY on transmit.
First, I'm unclear as to whether a keying interface (simple NPN 1K combo) is
needed for the FSK IN and DTR? I am guessing that FSK IN comes from the TXD
line out from the computer and DTR from the DTR out.
Then under the COM
Julius,
It will be easiest to use MMTTY in its AFSK mode. Connect the soundcard
line-in and line out to the K3 line-out and line-in jacks. Connect a
serial cable from the computer to the K3 RS-232 connector and set the K3
for DTR = PTT. Set MMTTY to use the COM port that you have connected
(in FSK D or AFSK A).

Julius,
If you want to use FSK without giving up radio control you will need two
serial ports - one for radio control and one for FSK keying. You cannot do
FSK on the same port as radio control (unless you are using the KY; software
command, which the vast majority of software, including MMTTY,
