Yes APF came out reel good, very well done! Don´t even know if
it was this good on the FT-1000D, at least not on the units I
did own.
Now if only AM RX was to be fixed I would be happy, as it is
right now AM (not sync AM) RX is more or less useless. It "got
broken" in the DSP code way back. I have
I would also like to thank the Elecraft crew for another great enhancement.
I updated the firmware a few minutes before a local traffic net here.
During the net, I was asked to receive 6 messages from a weak station. With
both the NR and APF turned on, a marginal situation became solid copy.

Given the value of both APF and Dual PB filters, the "menu dance"
to switch between the two is a very big drag. Please provide a
way to select either function (I'd sugge
WOW!! I wondered who the pile up was for around 14017 or so. Tuning
down a couple, I heard an S[minus]1 signal I couldn't make out, sounded
like 9A something, sometimes GT[?]. Figuring there wouldn't be a huge
pileup on a 9A, I engaged APF. Right out of the noise, maybe S3 and

I loaded the beta firmware so I could see what all the APF buzz was about.
3D2A was spotted on 18070 so I turned the beam and he was there in and out
of my noise level. I turned on the new APF function and peaked the CW
signal. He was now 100% copy. Turned APF off and he was in and out of my
noise

Good Lord!!
I'm setting here with a very weak carrier tuned in on 10m that is barely
detectable in the noise with my 250 CW filter set to 50hz.
When I turn the APF on it jumps out of the noise and actually sounds like an s-5
or s-6 signal

Thanks so much, Wayne, Lyle and the Elecraft crew who worked on this, and

Hi,
For the first time ever I am not able to download the zip file. As soon as I
click "save target as", Explorer complains about not being able to download
the file and something about "server returned extended information". Several
attempts yielded the same results. Anybody else have this probl
scary with its potential. This is the first time that a DSP

K3 beta-test firmware revision 4.17 (with DSP rev. 2.65) is now
available. This release includes our new APF (audio peaking filter)
for CW mode, which has been helping K3 field testers work "extreme"
weak DX for the past several days.
For voice modes, there's a "Fast Monitor" option (TX voic
