All, I notice an S7 spur on 147.48 MHz, which is our local CERT simplex net. Using an HT, it seems strongest right above the LCD display on the rig. It wipes out copy of weak stations on a separate mobile rig as well. Spur is unchanged with any setting on the K3 and does not go away when the P3

After upgrading to MCU 04.83 I have a strong birdie (S6) on 28004.560 kHz. I think I read about someone having the same, just only a short while after power ON. This one is constantly present and is quite annoying. What is causing it and how may it be removed? /oz4un Paul

I recall a long time ago that Tom Hammond, N0SS, reported that he originally had an unexpected birdie with his Field Test K3. I believe that he stopped the birdie from signing by tightening up a screw on the side panel... perhaps the one that secured the left side panel to the internal shield.

Hi Ken and Alexandr: Yes... BE SURE that all screws securing the front shield (to which the KSYN3 is attached) is well grounded to the RF PC board, and to the sides and top cover by ensuring that all screws are snug... but DO NOT tighten them to the point that you risk damaging the screw
