I seem to recall having a similar problem with FLDIGI. I think there is a checkbox to always use USB that I had to check to get the frequency to display correctly using DATA-A mode. Mike KI0HA On 5/30/2013 5:27 PM, Brendon Whateley wrote: When I use Data-A on the KX3, FLDIGI shows the incorr

When I use Data-A on the KX3, FLDIGI shows the incorrect operating frequency and I don't know how to fix that. The frequency is correct when I use the side band. - Brendon KK6AYI On May 30, 2013, at 2:53 PM, Greg wrote: > And always best to use Data-A for data modes via soundcard (or AFSK-A >

And always best to use Data-A for data modes via soundcard (or AFSK-A for RTTY). This will help with a clean signal by keeping compression turned off to avoid over-driving the audio chain. 73 Greg On 5/30/13, David Sanders W4DES wrote: > I'm using the SignaLink USB. SignaLink sells various ca

I'm using the SignaLink USB. SignaLink sells various cables to hook up to different radios. You need to get the cable part no. SLCABK3. It plugs into the line input, line output and PTT input jacks on the back of the K3. In addition, you will reconfigure some jumper wires inside the SignaLin

Hi, I think that I may have messed up and it got away from me. What I was asking is whether any of you are using SignaLink USB. Where do the cables plug in on the back of the K3. Do you have to turn on Data or can you use SSB? I have written to SignaLink but have not received an answer. I kn

The K3's TX DELAY parameter, set to 20 ms, is adequate to prevent most old T-R relays from hot-switching. I'm using mine with a 6M-converted SB-220 that is still using the original frame relay. I've been assured by Elecraft that this parameter provides KEY OUT delay during VOX usage as well as d

G'day, I've used VOX to key my K3 when using WSJT67 on 6M eme and RTTY without ill effects. However, my Acom 1000 switches very fast, older amps might just hot switch. I now use PTT from the PC having made a cable that has the appropriate control lines rather than the original K2 cable which

Actually, it could be easier and cheaper: use VOX instead of PTT. When the sound card generates a sound, the K3 transmits it. Of course, this implies that you have to be careful to suppress all other generators of sound card noises -- from the OS and other apps. So that is a potential downsid

The K3 doesn't need any interface... if you use the line in and line out on the rear panel the audio levels in and out are independent of the front panel AF control, and the mic level as used on SSB (assuming you use DATA A for data). The only possible advantage of the external interface is to use

No need to even use the ACC connection. You only need an audio line to Line IN, Line Out and a line for PTT to the PTT RCA connector. The cables are a snap to make. I cut a piece of CAT 5 cable, verify what colors go to what pins INSIDE the SignaLink (you set the jumpers internally) and then
