My situation is similar to Dave's. I live on a suburban lot 70' x 140' but only have dipoles at the moment.  I purchased a K4F (base K4) and have no regrets.  Although I still have my FT-1000D and may try for SO2R at some point in the future, the base K4 is perfectly adequate. Bob, WG9L On

The reasons to get a K4D over a K4 I think are only: 1) You need diversity receive. 2) You need to receive on two frequencies on different bands while still having bandpass filters engaged (the K4 can receive on 2 separate bands at once, but it has to bypass bandpass filters). On Fri, Nov 5, 2021

I am rather late in the first prepay group and requested a K4. I was strongly considering upgrading to the K4D when I got the call that my rig was about ready to ship. Now that the pricing is out, I see that it is a $900 difference. That gives me a bit of pause, not because it isn't worth the
