Inkscape is in the Ubuntu distribution. He manages .svg .dxf .eps etc.

1) In the docs, cross-references index is not working for other
languages than English since the asciidoc transition.
2) I read in the README:
docs.xml is used to create the "previous" and "next" buttons at the
top of each individual html document.
