At one time, as I am sure Ed recalls, the FCC issued their own test procedures, and I remember getting these free of charge. Since the FCC started using other standards, first ANSI C63.4 in lieu of MP-3/4, these borrowed standards came with whatever baggage their originating organization chose to

Jody, Koh – It is worth noting for the group that UL 60950-1, Annex P.1, cl. 4.3.8 requires that battery packs comply with UL 2054 ONLY when used with transportable equipment. Also, UL 60950 3rd Ed. does not have this requirement. UL 60950 3rd Edition may be used for UL product listing

It does not go back to the people who write the standards, I can guarantee that. As an active member of CISPR SC I at the USNC and WG2, WG3 and WG4 level I can assure you that all my employer does is spend money. The price of the standards (and we have to pay for our copies, too) goes to IEC HQ.

Are IEC 61326 and IEC 61326-1 different standards? In the OJ, EN 61326: 1997 + A1:1998 + A2: 2001 + A3: 2003 are applicable and based on IEC 61326: 1997 + A1: 1998 + A2: 2000 (with no A3). The IEC website shows IEC 61326: 2002 replacing through A2. I am trying to determine if IEC 61326-1 address
