Hello Colleagues, I was recently approached regarding the testing of DC conducted emissions on a car charger for a 2 Way Portable radio and if it is required. The applicable EMC standard per the RTTE Directive would be 301 489-5, which basically falls back on 301 489-1 without any special

David – You might consider ANSI T1.315-2001 “Voltage Levels for DC-Powered Equipment Used in the Telecommunications Environment”. This standard contains tests addressing transients, immunity, under voltage and others. There are some test setups included. Regards, Paul Stover, NCE

Standard for interrupting DC power supply output?

2006-07-25 Thread emc-p...@ieee.org
Hello, Does anyone know of a standardized test for simulating power glitches or interruptions on the output of a DC power supply? I am not interested in testing susceptibility of the AC power input but creating some sort of standardized interruption of the DC supply's output voltage supply.

Ghery makes two good points- #1- Check with local authorities, not just customers- as customers may not be up to date on accreditation rules. #2- If a company is not marketing their product to the U.S., then perhaps NVLAP, A2LA and U.S. MRA's are not required.

Hi Eric, Lots of luck, all of it bad! I did the NSA on the IBM/Siemens/Rolm 10 meter chamber in Santa Clara about eight years ago and it was a struggle to get to 30 MHz. Admittedly, this was a pure 2 meter cone absorber (no tile), but I haven't heard any success stories down at 13 MHz (not that
