Gentlemen,
I ask again would you peruse this file
www.mpm1.com:8080/cinci/comps/5axhydrotelkins_work.c? This file does
not have all the kinematics calculations in it. I simplified to allow
me to verify small sections. The tool length calculations work. When I
add the angle calculations the

If you configure emc with --enable-simulator and run with a

I've got a small problem that I'm hoping you all can help me with.
I have a dedicated computer in my shop running the RTAI kernel with
EMC2, supporting a home-built 3-axis machine with steppers. That
configuration runs great!! I just updated it to 2.2.8 last nite and
everything appears fine
Actually, I discovered that someone I had apparently already documented
a lot of this stuff on the wiki:

Including this item which is an important one:
To make gdb find the source files, it seems necessary to use the

Is there ANY way to tell the precompiled EMC2 to run in simulation
mode? Or is my only choice to recompile EMC2 with the simulation flags set?
Unfortunately, this isn't possible, and we don't offer precompiled
--enable-simulator builds
Okay, just a reminder of my setup on this particular machine...
15 widescreen Acer x163w monitor with a 1366 x 768 resolution. EMC and Axis
work fine under Dapper, although the resolution is not right. Hardy gets the
resolution correct, but the preview window in Axis streaks diagonally across

Has anyone used MFG.com to get jobs to run on your CNC's? I'm trying to
figure out if I should make the effort to get up to speed with it.
Thanks.

Kirk,
I haven't created a payable account, but have watched it over the past few
years. Seems to be a good service.
They send out alerts of what jobs meet the criteria of your job shop (that you
defined). Now when it comes to quoting, I have not done.

Anyone know how to find and/or calculate the hsyncstart, hsyncend, htotal,
vsyncstart, vsyncend, and vtotal values for a given monitor? The manual does
not have this info.

Did Peter's watchdog fix in the config file and the num_stepgens thing
fix all the problems you were seeing?
Looks like that got me over the hurdle. I can turn outputs like the brake off
and on now.
Now to figure out how to and all the axis enable line into one and invert
it to drive opto

Great, two easy fixes to the config files, no code changes
