I fixed the problem - I hadn't realised that the L297/L298
board had a current adjustment on it - don! It must have
been just below a critical value as this morning neither
motor would run on that driver and it only took a little

i just interesting if this spindle/system can be spindle torque sencetive?
For application such as taping or general machining. when cutting edge
wear toque on spindle will increase, and at certain level tool or part
will be damage.

Hi Peter, thanks for the info. We finally got around to messing with
this again. We did a couple things:
1) Set the 4i65 jumpers back to their default positions, that was
definitely part of the issue...
2) Updated BIOS
3) set jumpers on the motherboard relating to PCI/ISA bus configuration.
