Do those superslants have brushless servo motors with encoder feedback? Did they usually have linear scales on them also.. or not? 1984 is pretty old for electronic controls. From what I have seen, not many 1984 machines operate with their original controls without some pretty significant

Hi, I'm just in the process of adding home/limit switches to my new little mill - didn't bother on the last one but I keep running the Z-axis up to the top stop so I thought I'd better add them. However, each time I start up EMC2 and hit Home for the Z-axis, it ends up at a different reading.

Hi Wes, The lathe was sold to me as a running machine, so a retrofit should not be mandatory. I was just thinking that this group would be likely to want to use EMC2. The factory controls are Fanuc 6T with CRT and keyboard. This stuff is 1984 vintage. The machine actually has two of them, one fo
