For certain classes of work you dont need special kinematics, I have
been cutting gears for clocks
on a mill with stacked A on B, I hand craft the gcode though, as it
happens to suit the work I do.

What output options does the software have? If you can get it to generate a
DXF, then you can use one of many DXFtoGCode tools. I have seen similar
tools for HPGL output.

it would be a simple thing to modify the kinematics to do a tilting rotary
table

I am interested in adding a trunnion and rotary table to my existing
machining center. The frame is excellent but the control is dead so I was
thinking about using EMC2. Is there someone out there that has a successful
running machine that I could talk to and get me going? Also is creating the

EMC2 is not a G code generator and cannot spoon feed G code to anything. You
need to look at CAD/CAM software.

Hi All:
I have a friend who just got a nicely working
Shizuoka with an old Bandit controller. Now I want to help
him retrofit from the 80's to today, but he's pretty leery
of losing his machine for a 6 month project. ... Not an
outrageous fear.
Does anybody know how of a way for EMC2 or a
Is it possible to use jog wheels in teleop mode? I have been doing some
experimentation and can't seem to get it to to work. I can jog fine in
joint mode but when I switch to teleop mode the jog wheels appear to do
nothing.
