I just checked and I was correct for the 2.4.0~pre version all of the
touchy files located in /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/touchy are .pyc
files.

have been compiled. I am new to python and have not learned as much of
it as I would like to.

Sebastian,
I found where to change the .ngc suffix to .tap in the filechooser.py
file however I am not familiar enough with python to be able to
recompile it into filechooser.pyc. How do I do that?

Good Morning,
I am trying to set up a virtual control panel following the example
shown in 'Jogging With Buttons On A Pendant' listed in the WIKI. I must
be missing something because all I get is errors. I am new to EMC2 so
the learning curve is stil pretty steep but getting better.

Hi David,
G92 seems to work, I will try that when I move the EMC computer to the
shop tomorrow and try once again to cut some parts with EMC. Last
weekend I had to switch back to Mach3 because the frustration factor got
way too high with EMC.

Now when I try to start it with touchy I get the following error in the
Debug File Information section of the error log:
Can not find -sec EMC -var NML_FILE -num 1
I am not sure what to do next. It does run with axis for the user
interface.

Did you burn the image to a CD? The EMC2 live CD download is the image
for a bootable CD that you can run EMC2 from. There is an option in the
startup menu to install it to the hard drive or there is an icon on the

It really sounds like you wrote the image file to the CD but did not use
the proper selections is your CD recording software to make it a
bootable disk. You might want to try burning the image to another CD to
make sure or try booting the CD on another computer.

emc2=2.3.0 installation. Where does one find this typically? I did a

considering switching to EMC2 (I used to use EMC) but I don't like
any of the current user interfaces for use with a touch screen. This is
my personal complaint and should in no way be taken to mean that there
is something wrong with EMC2 or the current user interfaces.
