I use the Xylotex 3-axis kit http://www.xylotex.com/3AxWPS.htm with my small router and I'm satisfied. However, I don't run with very high current -- the motors are rated 2A which is already fairly low but I've found that running them at under 1.5A doesn't actually reduce top speeds but does make
