I have tried boot options pci=noacpiBOOT_DEBUG=2|3 DEBCONF_DEBUG=5 and just adding noacpiall with apparently no change in response except possibly a screen that flashes by to fast to read. I put these before the -- at the end of the boot line. More suggestions?? Kyle wrote: I would

Machine Dell optiplex110, 1GHz, 384 Meg memory, recent Ubuntu installed and working. Machine is neither on line nor networked. downloaded CD checksum OK on both of two different downloads/ CDs. When booting from CD: all options except boot from first hard disk result in: Ubunto logo shows
