Well, that's an easy one... explicitly do a 'make clean' before you do the
'make && make install' or, better yet, before you actually do the update
from cvs, do a 'make distclean'. That'll put the directory (and
sub-directories) back into a pristine, just-checked-out-from-cvs state. Then
Raster wrote up an explanation... you can create as many shelves
as you want, make them invisible, and only put one module in each. Then
you're free to move them around singly. The only restriction we
*currently* have to put up with is that the modules are required to go
somewhere along t

FWIW, I noticed something similar, briefly, after the last time I updated my
work machine from CVS last week. I use a custom script that invokes
xscreensaver, triggered from a .eap or ScrlLck. A few times, I'd come back to
the machine, and neither keyboard nor mouse actions would cause the pas
ard.
