This indeed works, it is the 'new' way of managing extensions, more
'Chrome like' (right, Mike?), but i prefere the old because in this way
extensions are user-installed and (a little, indeed) hog the user
profile, and i'v
all 'personally' the extensions (eg, with my yser, in
user folder) they are written as 'tbs...@jobisoft.de.xpi'.

I'm on windows, so translate \ and / correctly... ;-)

Some addons (i've found only ABP, Ad-Block Plus for now) need some
post-activation explicit setup (eg, ABP need to ask what blocklist
download), and you have to do that, user by user, or sometimes setup
some pre-cooked settings (js) files.
Look ad addon docs, for that.
