just a quickie...I know the EOS 3 has 45 point AF but just how many ECF points does it have? Which has a better (this is subjective!) ECF system for sports like soccer, the elan II, the EOS 3, or maybe the elan 7e? And why is one better than another? I have the elan IIe which I used last Fall f

All lenses have some shortcomings. While I am not thrilled with the push/pull design of the 100-400 L IS zoom, if you adjust the friction ring to the right setting it is easy to control and hold in place any focal length setting. This does take a bit more time to get used to than turning a ring.
