Does Elan 7 allow ratio control? I love my Elan II but the lack of ratio
control limits my creativity in certain cases. Of course after getting a

Not exactly. The e-ttl meter will measure the totality of the light and
determine what is necessary to create the middle tone exposure (fec at 0) .
This will require a little more power from the 420 since the Sigma has been
diminished, but no more than would be required if the Sigma was dialed d

Henry,
I am told that Canon UK (& Japan?) have recently changed their product codes

I am sorry but I could not find a numerical product code.
However this product was called "PCADAP" under the old system.
Hope you can identify it from this.

I'm considering this lens too. You mention you used 1Ns.
By chance, have you tried it on an A2? I'd want to get the
2x extender to get a 140-400 5.6, but Canon says the IS
won't work (with the 2x)
Which camera do you use?
You can use Flash ratio to do this, and 550ex/Super 500 should be able to do
it, but not on Elan II's. As far as I understood from the manual, only the
master flash needs to be able to set this, so your second flash can be
420ex. Correct me if I am wrong. My understandin

If I understand your setup correctly then yes, the -2 fec would be applied
to the 420 as well. This assumes that the 420 is setup via a ttl cord.
If you want different power levels from your combination the the Sigma flash
