I tried both (sorry ftp.kernel.org), and discovered it's 2.4.10 that
you need to patch.
I've got gkrellm running here, and using plain 2.4.10, the memory on
reboot would show almost 50% usage. Using 2.4.10-ac4, the memory
usage is less than 25%. (Both under Xwindows). That alone makes me
like
Alan just released 2.4.10-ac4, which is a 2.4.10 merge minus the VM
change. Does this mean it is a 2.4.10 tree with the applied patch?
or a 2.4.9 tree? I would think it's .10, but the changlog makes it
look like one big patch. ???
Thanks,
Rob

No need to bring. Mr. O has cable and seems to find burning Mandrake in
particular a rather pleasurable experience.

Mandrake 8.1 ISOs on my hard drive. Bring your blanks. 650MB discs will work.

A pile of monkeys is better than monkey piles. ;)

Ximian sent a pile of monkeys.
Caldera sent some CDs
VMware is sending some goodies...
All looks like it's good for this weekend!
I still need people to volunteer looks like Sunday needs
more people...
Yeah, POSE is open source, works well, and is a
great Palm emulator... highly recommended.
There are complete packages for everything in
Debian I believe including the cross
compilers etc...
It's not running Linux, but I'm not convinced
that running Linux on a handheld is so hot right
now...
Would anybody be bringing a copy of Mandrake 8.1 to mro's
tomorrow night? I would like to burn a copy. Also which size
CD's are needed 700MB or the smaller ones.
Also I need some directions.

Google.com/linux has 485 hits for ipaq emulators. Apparently gdb has an
armstrong emulator.

Well, I do know the ipaq is an arm device, and I think that platform is an
open standard...
so I think that emulators DO exist, but maybe the complexity lies in
getting beyond just the
chip emulation and into platform-specific stuff. Most of that sor
Rob,
There's a very good emulator for palm-like machines. You compile
programs with a cross-compiler and copy them to the emulation system,
and save the rom before exiting the emulator. I was using the
emulator for a few weeks while I was waiting for my Palm to arrive.
Don't know about the ip
I was reading about linux on the iPaq today. Does anyone know if
there is an emulator that you can run on a normal desktop, and play
with handhelp apps or even attempt to program some?
What options do folks w/o handhelds have besided spending the money on
one? :)
Thanks,
Rob

Ha, couldn't the eugene SAO get a speaker from a company that wasn't
mismanaged to death? Guess they couldn't find a game company that did
anything other than make shelf fodder. I wonder if she will give any
explanation to her part in running it into the ground...
