Stewart Alsop is not just any customer. You'd be better off thinking of
him as a reporter. It's not a perfect analogy by any means, but think of
it as: Elon Musk is to Stewart Alsop as Donald Trump is to Megyn Kelly. As
a business person, would you want to piss off Megyn Kelly or Brian Williams

which customers will buy. If a particular deal is suspected to have a large
risk of increased cost, such as a financially unstable client or d

The blogger wasn't very polite, but these days everybody's a critic. You
expect that in business. IMO, the best response to a post like that is to
say "Thanks for you
I’m surprised nobody has brought up the infamous John Broder incident. That
cost Tesla quite a bit in damage control. The naysayers had a field day.
Even if Musk was harsh, it was a prudent move. He avoided a bigger hassle.

I disagree...The guy whined about a stupid PR event! He needs to get a
life. He also clearly indicated that his past behavior is to whine about
everything. Let me get this straight, a car HE decided to buy from BMW made

By that logic, car companies would never sell to car magazines or newspaper
reporters.

Read it again. That was MUSK's defense, such as it is.
I'm probably swimming against the current here, but I don't think this
reflects well on Tesla.
I find that story amusing

I don't know the details of the phone conversation or if it was really
sufficiently rude to cancel his order. However, I am amused that the
blogger's defence was how super rude he was to another car company.
