This is somewhat of a classic. At our 15th Annual Electric Car
Rally last weekend..a Porsche 914 took first place in the show and

Hi Don,
I got the impression the iMiev was not well received generally in the US. It
is certainly a small car - tho by no means the smallest (think, Fiat 500) but
it is still good for 4 fairly normal sized adults. I test drove one here last
year and found it perfectly capable but basic. If o
Thanks Donald for the update/correction,
the Canadian and European newswires I read must have used 100 miles as
the stated range. Looking at:

The iMiev is a well designed, purpose built Production EV. Sadly,
Mitsubishi decided that U.S. buyers can only buy an iMiev with a smaller
60 mile pack, whereas in Canada and Europe, their customers are able to
buy the larger near 100 mile pack.
Despite this, Chuck may find 60 miles is more than
I agree that a ~3kW on-board charger is limiting, especially with the
Spark EV not really having a L3 charging ability (there aren't any ccs

that is already out there).
I pray that the GM lurkers are hearing us, and will allow a
The charger on the Spark sucks. From Chevy's website:
"For a faster charge, the available 240V system fully charges the battery in
just seven hours."
Whoohoo a 2.5kW charger! The only option for a faster charge is GM's
version of DC fast charging. How many years before that is widely

Noticed in the paper a day or two ago that one of the SF Bay Area Nissan
dealers is offering Leaf leases for some-$3000 down and $99/mo. I think
Fed/state tax credits are still after that.
