I suspect that probably has to do with the setup for the self-check kiosk.
I imagine it probably only allows certain statuses to checkout, so the
"display" status would need to be added to that list in some manner.

Is there a way to allow an item in the "On Display" status to check out via
third-part RFID self check out units? We attempted to use "On Display' as
a status but those items would return an error when a patron attempted to
check out at the self check units.

We have a display status as well. It functions differently than a shelving
location. If an item is in the display status, it stays in that status until
it is checked back in. Then it goes into reshelving back to its home shelving
location.
